Red Circle of Death

This is when you are on X-Box Live and the green circle around your power button turns red. That means that your beloved X-Box is kaput. It has happened to some of my friends. Anyone know why it happens?

it happens because microsoft wants u to buy another x-box 360 so they make more money. that is what sony did with the ps2.

They did that with PS2? Wow, Bill Gates is greedy if he wants you to shell out another couple hundred dollars.

yep. sony pulled the disc read error for ps2 and now microsoft has the red circle of death. i guess nintendo is the only fair company.

The best is when you're at Target or Walmart and their 360 has the RROD.

Yea, one time I went and they had guys from Geek Squad fixing it. Took them like, 10 minutes to figure out the thing was shot. Suspect

My 360 got it but you can fix it.....all you do is cover it in towels and then just run in the towels for like 30min-1hr and then uncover is and then take out all plugs and then plug them back in and that fixed it for me

I've heard that that's only a temporary solution, but I'm not sure.

I have a friend who bought insurance on it or something. He was able to get a new one for free. I wonder if it was within 30 days or something.

I'm not sure since I've never bought an extended warrenty, etc for anthing... But isnt it normally for a year?

No idea, don't have an X-Box. All I know is practically every person I know who bought one has had it go kaput after a while.
